Who goes Speed Dating?
Normal people who just don’t get the opportunity to meet others
in their immediate circle of friends or in the workplace. Usually
busy professionals.
What if more of one sex than another register?
We control registration to ensure that equal numbers of men and
women attend our events.
How long does a Speed Date event last?
The dating part lasts up to three hours, depending on the number
of participants. The evening can then carry on for as long as you
have the energy and the venue stays open!
What actually happens at the event?
When you arrive you will be given a Date Card and an identity/name
badge. Our host will then introduce you to some other Speed Daters
with whom you can have a drink at the bar. Once everyone has arrived
your Host will explain exactly how the evening will work and answer
any questions you have. Then the dating begins. Usually women will
stay seated while men will move tables when the bell rings. After
each date participants mark on a Date Card whether they would like
to see that person again, either as a friend or to explore romantic
possibilities. At the end of the evening we collect in the Date
Cards.

What if Women’s places are sold out?
We control registration to ensure that equal numbers of men and
women attend our events – sometimes we can accept additional
numbers as long as the 50/50 mix isn’t unbalanced – so
the solution would be to bring along a friend of the opposite sex!
Call us to enquire when you see the ‘sold out’ sign if
you are interested.
I'm just outside the age range specified for an event. Can I
still attend?
Yes, you can. The age ranges specified are guidelines. If you are,
or look as if you are, well outside the age range you are unlikely
to get matches and therefore could be disappointed.
How should I dress for Speed Dating?
Smart is essential, but apart from that, wear what you feel comfortable
in. Many people will be coming straight from work. Obviously you
will want to create a good impression. We do not recommend trainers
or jeans.

Are these mini-dates long enough?
Oh yes! Two or three minutes can seem like a very long time with
someone you don't like!! The objective is to give you enough time
to see if there is potential or chemistry and then you can take
things forward by arranging to meet for a longer date.
Can I come on my own?
Of course. A large percentage of our guests do. We make sure you
are introduced to people and that everyone mingles before and after
the actual speed dating, so come along!!
Can I bring a friend?
You are very welcome to bring pre-registered friends (of either
sex).
Why do I need to book in advance?
We need to ensure a balance of men and women. We also need to ensure
that enough people will be attending each event or we would be letting
you down and not delivering good value for money!

Do I have to pay
by credit card?
You can pay by cheque or postal order if you prefer. Just contact us
for details.
How many dates will I get at a Speed Date event?
Depending on the type of event, you will get between 20 and 30 dates.
What are the minimum requirements to sign up?
You just need to be single, have an email address and be over 18
years old. We do reserve the right to decline repeat bookings from
attending individuals who we consider incompatible with our core
client base.

How many events can I attend?
As many as you like!!
When do I actually pay for the event?
Your credit card is debited at the time of booking.
Can I cancel?
If you give us at least 3 days notice we can normally change your
booking to another date and event or leave it open ended – we will charge a £5
handling fee for this service. Unfortunately we do not normally
offer refunds.
When will I hear if I have any matches?
We will inform you of any matches by email
If you have matches you will receive the first names and email addresses
of everyone you ticked who also ticked you.
How old are the other speed daters?
Age ranges vary for particular events. Be sure to check the event listing.
